In a couple of weeks, we will be driving our middle one to college two and a half hours away, and setting up her first shared apartment near campus. This will be our first time dropping one of our kids off away, since Parker earned his construction certificate at a local technical college. In preparing and packing all the things that Lila will need while she’s away from home, I saved some links to my favorite practical and lovely things that I could also share with you!
If you still have some college dorm shopping to do, or want a few more ideas… come sit by me, friend!
Swipe below to see some ideas for their desks, some bedding options, packing, storage and organization, towels and bath/shower things, kitchen/kitchenette supplies, a bit of decor, and a few cute jewelry pieces for the girls on game day. :)
I may receive a small commission if you purchase something using my referral links. It doesn’t cost you a penny more, but it sure helps me pay for college tuition and an apartment, so I definitely appreciate you!
I’m sure that when Lila begins to pack up her room and it starts to look empty, reality will set in and I will have to take a few steps back down the hall for a deep breath.
I’ve been preparing for this moment since she was born. It is hard to let go of what we love so deeply. I know Lila is going to make some pretty big dreams come true while she’s away! And I’m reminding myself (and her) that I am far more proud of her and excited to see her spread her wings and fly, than I am sad for me. But I can’t wait to go visit her!
College moms, I know you feel me. I so admire all of you who’ve launched their baby birds into the world so fearlessly.
I hope to be as brave as you, as I launch my own.
xoxo,
Stacey
